| October 19-20: Symposium Energy 2050 Aula Magna Stockholm University In connection with the SET-plan Conference the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences will arrange the international symposium Energy 2050 in Stockholm on October 19-20. The symposium is focused on key issues emanating from the Academy’s in-depth energy studies during 2005–2009. The goal is to provide a statement as a basis for the December 2009 Copenhagen meeting at which a post-Kyoto action plan will be discussed. |

| October 22: The Inno Energy Forum - Turning the SET Plan into Reality China Theatre The Inno Energy consortium, consisting of major actors from Industry, Universities and Research Institutes invite to an afternoon session, Oct 22, 14:00-16:00, exploring the potential of an integrated and holistic approach for a sustainable energy Europe. In particular, how the actors of the knowledge triangle, i.e. the business community, the universities and research institutes can join force on an organisational level to boost innovation. The challenge for Europe to become climate neutral by 2050 is an opportunity for the innovation system of Europe to create new companies and jobs, making Europe the leading actor of sustainable energy products and services. | October 23: FRENCH-SWEDISH SCIENTIFIC WORKSHOP ON LOW CARBON ENERGY City konferensen, Malmskillnadsgatan 46 (Stockholm) Friday 23 October / 8.30-16.30 Organizers: - the French CEA (Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique), the French Environment and Energy Management Agency (ADEME) and the Institut français du pétrole, with the suppport of the French Embassy in Sweden - the Swedish Energy Agency During the workshop, possibilities of cooperation to develop low-carbon energy technologies will be investigated. The workshop will focus on four topics: bioenergies, solar energy, smart grids and carbon capture and storage.
